Frequently asked
Do I need an appointment for an estimate?
Appointments are recommended so we can give your vehicle our full attention, but you're welcome to call or stop by. Estimates are always free.
Can I choose my own body shop, or do I have to use my insurer's?
You have the right to choose. California's Fair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations prohibit insurers from requiring you to use a particular shop. Just let your adjuster know you've chosen Scott's Auto Body.
How long will my repair take?
It depends on the extent of the damage and parts availability. We'll give you a time estimate when we write your estimate and keep you updated throughout the repair.
What does the lifetime warranty cover?
The warranty covers the craftsmanship of our repairs for as long as you own the vehicle. Ask us for complete details when you pick up your car.
What does I-CAR Gold Class mean?
I-CAR is the collision repair industry's leading training organization. Gold Class is its highest level of recognition for a repair shop. It means our technicians have role-relevant training on today's vehicles, including advanced steels, aluminum, ADAS sensors and safety systems, and that we keep that training current every year.
Why does my car need an ADAS calibration after a repair?
Many newer vehicles rely on cameras and radar in the windshield, bumpers and mirrors for features like automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping. Even a minor collision, a windshield replacement or a wheel alignment can shift those sensors slightly. Calibration resets them to the manufacturer's specifications so the systems react when they should. We do it in-house as part of your repair.
Will the new paint match?
Yes. We use computer color-matching and blending techniques so the repaired area matches the rest of your vehicle.
